The Guitar Guys are a Toronto-based string ensemble, offering an innovative musical experience that combines the warm classical string sound with a variety of musical genres including contemporary pop, jazz, and classical music.

Performing mostly on acoustic instruments, the ensemble incorporates amplification, rhythm effects, and improvisation to create a unique, energetic performance, perfectly suited to match the atmosphere of any environment. The Guitar Guys have established a reputation for delivering exceptional performances that captivate listeners with their unmistakable musical ability, creativity and fantastic energy.

Established in 2015, the ensemble consists of members Tino Popovic, (violin) Alex Toskov (guitar and violin) and Orsi Lengyel (cello) who developed their musical rapport while playing together for many years in professional chamber ensembles, orchestras, and bands. The group came up with the idea to blend their musical experiences and individual talents into The Guitar Guys: classical and contemporary music, performed with vibrancy, energy and emotion.

From Cocktails to Classic Rock
We are a modern ensemble playing covers of top 40, pop and classic rock songs as well as cocktail music and popular classical music performed by our string quartet band.

Whatever the location or destination, in a church, on a beach, or a historical site, we make beautiful music anywhere and everywhere, for any occasion.

Tino Popovic

Tino Popovic is a versatile and charismatic Canadian violinist who enjoys performing as a concert soloist or as a member of the orchestra. Tino is known for his engaging Pop Violin Show where he combines contemporary popular music with the sweet sound of the violin across a wide range of styles and genres. His musical journey began in Yugoslavia at the young age of 5, where he quickly became both an accomplished violinist and a respected vocal soloist. His talent, dedication and passion have taken him across North America, Europe and Asia. Tino is an alumnus of the University of Toronto and is the co-founder of Wellington Music.

Orsi Lengyel

Orsi Lengyel was born in Budapest, Hungary. She studied music in Vienna, Austria before moving to Canada to further her studies at the University of Toronto and the Royal Conservatory of Music. A passionate musician, Orsi performs regularly at concert venues and events throughout Toronto and across Canada. In addition to her performances, she also teaches Suzuki cello and Kodaly musicianship classes and is the co-founder and owner of Wellington Music.

Alex Toskov

Alex Toskov is a highly accomplished musician, who holds a Masters Degree in Music and received his Artist Diploma from The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Alex has a diverse and impressive resume that include performances with the Broadway musical Kinky Boots at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, a principal violinist role with the Toronto Concert Orchestra and various soundtrack recordings for television series including the CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries. He has also performed with such artists as Diana Krall (Massey Hall), Josh Groban (Sony Centre), Trans-Siberian Orchestra (Air Canada Centre) and Owen Pallett (Massey Hall).
